Watch Baby Savvy's Live Interviews with Educators at #ISTE18

3 min read

The ISTE Conference, which takes place in Chicago, from June 24th to 27th, is one of the largest education conferences in the world. I’m excited to announce that my 1 1/2 year-old daughter, Savvy, Kelly Jake Duncan, and I will be returning as official ISTE media to conduct live video interviews with passionate educators. We have an exciting lineup of interviews planned (Dr. Alec Couros, Shannon Miller, Lisa Dabbs, Sarah Thomas, Barbara Bray, Carrie Baughcum, Maria Galanis, Ilene Winokur Alzaid, Coach Jeffery, Valerie Lewis, Brian Smith, Jenn Williams, Buncee and many more), but would love to interview you about your passion or the great things you are doing in education! You can dm me @ShellTerrell to setup a time. You can also catch us at the Badge Summit, Blogger’s Cafe (feel free to just come up and say hi!), or after one of my free presentations:

  • The Rethink Learning Summit is a free catered event that takes place on Monday and Tuesday (June 25th-26th).  On Tuesday, at 12 noon, the topic I will be leading is “Creating Comprehensive, Resource-Rich and Flexible Learning Experiences.” Alan November will do a keynote and I will be leading the panel discussion. Register here.
  • Catch me on Monday at Booth #2136 at the ISTE Exhibit Hall, for an interactive presentation, “Building Community with Get-to-Know You Buncee Activities.” Find out more here.

We can do on the spot interviews. They take only a few minutes! Check out Baby Savvy’s ISTE 2017 video interviews from last year here. I have also embedded some below. We are excited to be part of the #PassthescopeEDU team who livestreams a lot of the learning that takes place on Twitter for all to enjoy virtually. All of Savvy’s videos will be shared on this blog and on Twitter (@ShellTerrell and via the #PassthescopeEDU hashtag). Don’t forget to follow the #PassthescopeEDU crew- Valerie Lewis (@iamvlewis), Brian Romero Smith (@BrianRSmithSr), Sarah Thomas (@Sarahdateechur), Claudio Zavala (@ClaudioZavalaJr), Marialice Curran (@mbfxc), Jacqueline Rose (@JRose_Edu), Dan Kreiness (@dkreiness), Amy Storer (@techamys), Bronwyn Joyce (@JoyceBronwyn) and F. Margret Atkinson (@fmargret).

Why does baby Savvy conduct ISTE interviews?

Savvy’s dad and I met at the ISTE Conference in San Antonio in 2013 and our PLN was a huge part of our story. We conduct the interviews as a celebration of the story of her birth and so that she can have captured moments with educators who are part of the story of how she came into this world!
