Interview with André Spang, @Tastenspieler: Remix the Textbook!

2 min read

Each mission in my new book, Hacking Digital Learning Strategies: 10 Ways to Launch EdTech Missions in Your Classroom, shares an example of the Mission in Action by a teacher I admire. When I was writing the Mission: Remix Learning in a Digital Textbook, I immediately thought about my good friend from Germany, André Spang, @Tastenspieler. I met André several years ago on #Edchat. When I looked at his profile I was astounded to see the inspiring work he accomplished with his students. One of his projects was getting his students to create digital textbooks for the Religion classes. He worked with adolescents and teenagers. They used Wikibooks to plan, license, and create the digital textbooks before publishing them as iBooks. I caught up with André this week and asked him to share his insights about students creating digital textbooks.
