“Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly.” ~ Sir Francis Bacon

This year with the 30 Goals Challenge for Educators, our 30 Goals Facebook community is voting to determine some of the goals which are mostly from the previous 3 cycles.  Today’s goal, however, was submitted by Theodora Pap. This year’s theme is, “This is MY Moment.” Each goal will focus on getting educators to believe their plans of action now will lead to positive changes and transformation in their teaching and learning environments.

What’s a book print? Theodora in her post about her book print defines this as, “A list of books that leave an indelible mark on our lives, shaping who we are and who we become.”

Short-term– List a few books that impacted your life. Tell us how one of them changed your life.

Long-term– Have your students create projects in which they list books, music, movies, etc. that made an impact on their lives. They can do this with tools like BiteSlideGlogster, Urturn (Free app), Jux, Haiku Deck, Google Presentations, LittleBirdTales and other digital storytelling tools. See my bookmarks here!

They can build their own bookshelves with Shellfari or collections with information on Small Demonsa great site for discovering interesting details about books.

My Book Print

I originally did this in Jux but I couldn’t figure out how to embed it. I also didn’t like the way the website was displaying it. Only Don Quixote would appear for me. It’s a cool tool and was easier to use than the others but it didn’t work for me the way I wanted. It’s in a Google Presentation.
